A variety of websites I found good for my own research.

Hello,

I thought I'd share the following websites with anybody who is wondering where to go next in searching for information over the Internet, or who are just curious about Australia/Cornwall. Maybe these sites are nothing new, but when I got onto them I felt like I'd struck gold.

Western Australia Reverse marriage look up: http://www.openwindows.com/marriage/search.htm

Index to Australian Cemeteries: http://cemindex.arkangles.com/listacemetery.php

Victorian Goldfields (click on "photo album" to see an example of typical homes the Cornish built on the goldfields in very early days). This is the area where the sons of Thomas Tonkin (b. 1790 St Just), and nieces/nephews of Margaret Hattam (born 1785 St just) went when they sailed to Australia in the 1850s - 1860s: http://www.genesis.net.au/~hrgold/

A brief history and early life in Bendigo (Victoria, Australia): http://www.jewell.asn.au/family-history/bendigo.htm

History of Australia before 1901: http://www.indopedia.org/History_of_Aus ... _1901.html

A very interesting book, which can be read (previewed) online:
"The Cornish Family: The Roots of Our Future" By Bernard Deacon (Lecturer at the Institute of Cornish Studies in Truro, Cornwall) http://books.google.com.au/books?id=AoHGzOKF0DYC

I notice lots of people look at the postings on this forum, but not many people write in. It'd be good to see something new up here. I mean... I'd read it.

Bye everyone, from Sue.
Sue W.
