Alice Ellis - this is amazing

Postby PenzancePirate » Tue 29 Jan 2008 10:43

Having fallen upon the Hattam site by accident whilst doing research on my own family tree, I find that Alice Ellis, my g-g-grandmother (maternal) is also a part of the Hattam family. There are many things I have discovered that my mother never knew but the one intersting thing is that my grandmother, Ada Maud Waters, had a brother called Leslie but his birth is not listed. Does anyone know why? My mother also never knew her mother's half brother Harry Waters - what happend to Harry? Does anyone know? When I showed my mother the picture of Alice Ellis she was dumbstruck, thinking it was a picture of her grandmother Jane. This is so incredible - thank you so much to everyone who has done this incredible research. Anyone who can tell me more about the Waters family (my grandmother Ada married a Percy Jelbart from St Buryan) then I would love to hear from you.

Kind regards

Hi PP

... that my grandmother, Ada Maud Waters, had a brother called Leslie but his birth is not listed. Does anyone know why?

Only because I didn't know about him. He's not listed on either the 1891 or 1901 censuses for the family, so either he was born after 1901 or he was elsewhere on census night, and therefore I didn't know to look for him.

... her mother's half brother Harry Waters - what happend to Harry? Does anyone know?

Again I don't know either. John (Harry) Waters wasn't with his father's family in the 1901 census, and I haven't tracked him down yet.

I'll try and chase up some of these loose ends and see what I can find.
